Big Foot Comes To GTS

On Monday 4th of December we had BIGFOOT. BIGFOOT is when two people come to your 

school and teach the safety of your bike and how to ride it. Hopeful BIGFOOT will come to your school.

The Daring Donuts - Film

The Daring Donuts

In Term 3, we got the chance to make our very own films. 

The theme for this year’s films, “confident, connected, actively involved lifelong learners”. Our teacher, Mrs Faalili put us into groups. My group was The Daring Donuts. We learnt about storyboarding, different types of shots and angles as well as how to hold the ipad correctly. 

Our film is a comedy and drama. It is about Someone who ends up lonely because her/his decisions.  Now him/her has lost his/her friends now.  

One thing I really liked about this whole filming process was working together as a team and helping out one another.

During the first week of school we found out

Why do we have plastic bags??? 

During my research about plastic bags and what they are doing to animals 

and other mammals and creatures. Plastic bags are taking over, what can YOU do make

the world a better place? What can YOU do to stop people from using plastic bags and 

NOT reusing them in the right way!?!?!

How To Make Oobleck

Quality Blog Comment.

In cybersmart  we have have been looking at blogs and adding quality blog comments.

A quality blog comment must be POSITIVE, THOUGHTFUL & HELPFUL.

A quality blog comment must have a greeting, a compliment,  feedback and a question if you have one.

We have been drafting  our own comments and publishing it onto people's blog posts.

In room 10 our teacher showed us a video/film, it was about world war 1 and 

we had to right a recount pretending to be Private Barrett.

P1: 13 of November, 2014. ‘’OK mum I’m going now.’’ I said. (Jake) This is the usual, I go out for walks every night. Mum gets worried and makes up a reason for me to stay home. But I don’t listen.

P2:  I start to walk as the wind was creating an air current around my face. While I was walking I heard a suspicious sound coming from around the corner as if  someone was heavily breathing.  So I slowly and quietly sneaked over to the side of the building. And then I saw…

P3:  ...And then I saw a man, but not just any man. It was weird cause you know it’s a man on the streets so… I went to  check it out because I thought it would be someone drunk. I saw him, he was dancing around with a hat on the ground in front of him. So I said ‘’ hey are you OK?’’ He didn't reply. He turned around with a gigantic smile on his face! I was creeped out.  Then, when I tried walking away I saw his shadow start to run behind me!!! Then I saw him pull something out of his pocket! And I saw him aiming it at me. To be continued…..
