Freerice

In room 12 Mr.Niks has found us a new site we can use for 'Word Work'

(a task in daily 5.) This site/app is called Freerice, and Freerice gives 

you a word and at the bottom a few options of what

another word is for that word. For example if the word was

"Snack" there would be a few options and you have to pick the 

one with the correct definition. Here is the link to Freerice,

Today one of the task for today was to read an article about being forgetful. Apart of the task

Pobble 365 Work On Writing - Scuba Diving

For Daily 5, one of the activities for my group was "Work On Writing" where we chose one of the few options, and I chose to write a story using an image from Pobble 365.  Here is what I came up with.

Today for Reading in room 12, my reading group had to do word work.

Word work is when you chose a task to complete and by completing it you do the activity. 

I chose "Pyramid Write."  We write our spelling words in a pyramid. Here is mine.

For this word work activity, you had to spell

your words in all capitals. So what I did was I got someone to read out the words while I 

wrote them on a google drawing.

Term 1 review

In the past 4 weeks of school in Rm 12, we have learned a lot! Some of the learning required to get creative with art. For example, our reading boxes. We used our stationery boxes and cut them in half to split into two parts. We then started designing our reading boxes to put our books in. Another activity we've done these past few weeks is our kiwi sport which is Squash. In squash, we have a mix of five teams. To get to know each other we created all about me posters and we all enjoyed getting creative and having fun with designing them uniquely.

Some of the people in out class pointed out some 

of the words they didn't know so here are a few words and the definitions.
