Anne Frank Activity 3 - Dear Diary

For activity 3 in Literacy, we were inspired by Anne Frank to create a Diary about our "extraordinary day" but I didn't have one so I made a day up of what I would like. We had to act as if this was our own Diary so we  had to start off with 'Dear Diary.' Here's my writing of not what my extraordinary day would be, but what a great day for me would be.

Shakespearean writing - My Morning Routine

For activity 2 we had to write about how our morning went and use the Shakespearean Translator

to translate it to be Shakespearean. Here is how my morning went.

Day 1 - Barcelona Cathedral

 This week is High school week, if you don't know what High School Week is it is where

the year 5 to 8s get a schedule showing which classes we go to in which period. This gives us time to prep for College. For the first day, in Literacy we had an activity about Cathedrals. We had to chose one to wright and research about. I chose the Barcelona Cathedral, here is the information I found on it.

Cybersmart - Top Tips For Blogging

WALT: Write quality blog comments. For Cybersmart with Mrs Stone, we created a

google drawing on the top tips for blogging. We also watched a video from Pt.England school on the things to remember when commenting on someones blog. Now that we have refreshed our mind on how to comment on someones blog using these good quality tips! Remember when commenting to end a on a good note, like a compliment! 

 

Symbolism Art Piece

 This is my symbolism art, it represents me and all the things I enjoy. It also has different patterns as in Maori patterns, Samoan and Fijian patterns that represent my culture. Aquaman is in there because it is my favourite movie and Jason Momoa is my favourite actor. I love to listen and sing to music so I added musical notes. On the bottom, it shows different anime characters from the Anime shows im currently watching. I had to add some geometric shapes as that is what our focus this term is.  Hope you enjoy :)

U.R.U - Film festival film

Alanna, May, Coree and I have created a short film called U.R.U. This film about identity and culture. This film represents 6 people who are different cultures but they still get along. What our film is trying to say is to always be yourself and to not change for anyone. The cultures in our film are Mon, Samoan, Tongan, Tuvaluan and Maori. Enjoy the movie and remember, you are you so don't change for anyone.

Symbolism of myself

Poi Rakau

Today we learnt a new game called Poi Rakau. In this game our teacher called out 2 different callings. Left was "Whaka te Maui" and right was "Whata te Matou." Everyone holds a stick and when the teacher calls out Whaka te Maui, we try and grab the stick on our left. If he calls out Whaka te Matou we try and grab the stick to our right. This was a very fun game and we were all very competitive.

Joseph Kekuku was the inventor of the Metal Guitar. 
I created a google presentation about Joseph Kekuku and in the slide, 
it gives information about him. 

Keke Sai Siaine

Today in Rm12 we had to write down the ingredients and 

methods of Keke Vai Siaine. Keke Vai Siaine is Tongan Banana Pancakes. 

We had to watch a video of a lady making it then write down the ingredients and the method she used. Here is my document of the ingredients and method of how to make Keke Vai Siaine along with the price and where you can buy the ingredients.

For today, one of our activities were to chose someone to create a brochure about but it had to be an inventor. I picked Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the Telephone. Here is my brochure on him, I hope you learn something new! 

Freerice

In room 12 Mr.Niks has found us a new site we can use for 'Word Work'

(a task in daily 5.) This site/app is called Freerice, and Freerice gives 

you a word and at the bottom a few options of what

another word is for that word. For example if the word was

"Snack" there would be a few options and you have to pick the 

one with the correct definition. Here is the link to Freerice, 

along with an image with my highest score on it. Enjoy.
